Guests who wish to 'do their own thing' in the mornings are given the wherewithal for a good Continental breakfast, including eggs to poach or boil and freshly juiced fruit, to organise for themselves in the Guest House. Alternatively Continental or full English breakfast is provided in Manor Cottage at a mutually convenient time, arranged the previous evening.
On arrival guests find a Welcome Pack including chilled wine, fresh fruit and milk. The Guest House is stocked with various coffees (including Nespresso); teas; packet soups; fruit cordials and bottled waters.
All fresh food is specifically bought for individual guests. Meat is ordered from the Traditional Breeds farm shop; eggs are from our own hens and vegetables are from the garden as available. About a week before arrival guests are sent an up-to-date list of 'tested'' local pubs and restaurants of which there are many good ones. At the same time guests are asked to indicate their breakfast preferences and those wishing supper on the first evening are sent some menu ideas. Guests staying for multiple nights may ring the changes on a daily basis.
All meals at Manor Cottage are served in the dining area of the kitchen. There is an open log fire in winter. East facing French windows open to the garden and catch the morning sun. In good Summer weather guests may eat out of doors if they wish.
NB Sue is delighted to try to accommodate guests with special dietary requirements or allergies but please mention these at the time of booking.
Unless Sue is asked otherwise guests will find fresh flowers in the Guest House. Bedding is duck feather and down and organic Indian and Egyptian cotton.
